Email is the most reliable way to ask questions about the class or to make an appointment.
All assignments will be available for download from this web site. Problem sets will be assigned weekly and, unless stated otherwise, collected in lecture on the due date.
Late Policy: Late work will not be graded.
If serious illness prevents you from handing in an assignment on time, taking a quiz or examination, or doing a laboratory, please contact me ASAP
to arrange a makeup. For medical-related requests to delay handing in course work, documentation will be required. Please do not request
special arrangements for any class work to accommodate Thanksgiving travel plans. Work submitted for grading in this class is accepted only with the implied representation that it has been performed and written up by the
person whose name appears on the paper. Applicable university policy concerning academic honesty will be strictly observed in this class. ECE111 correspondence will be send only to official U of R accounts. The preferred format is
"username@u.rochester.edu", but any address ending in "rochester.edu" is acceptable. If a student prefers to use another personal
account, then it is his or her responsibility to set up forwarding from their U of R account to their personal account.
Please refer to the university's email policy. Cell phones, pagers, and all other wireless distractions are not welcome in ECE111 lectures, workshop sessions, or laboratories. As a courtesy to the instructor and to your fellow students, turn them off before coming to class.
Please refer to the ECE Department's cell phone policy. C.K. Alexander & M.N.O. Sadiku, Fundamentals of electric circuits (3rd ed.), McGraw-Hill, 2006. NOTE: Despite the appearance of yet another unnecessary edition of this text, we will continue to use the 3rd edition in 2009. The U of R bookstore assures me that they
will have adequate stocks for Fall 2009. Do not purchase the 4th edition.
