Research Interests

Professor Fauchetís research interests are multidisciplinary. They include ultrafast laser spectroscopy of solids; picosecond opto-electronics; femtosecond laser technology; applications of free electron lasers; optical characterization of non-crystalline semiconductors; materials science and optoelectronic and electronic device applications of nanoscale silicon, including porous silicon; sensors; and laser-materials interactions. He has also created and is leading a center where engineers and physicians develop affordable technology that can be used at home and assist communities anywhere on Earth in their efforts to upgrade their membersí care.
