Wendi with one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and one foot in the Southern Hemisphere. The equator passes very close to the base of Mt. Kenya. We saw a demonstration there that water does indeed swirl clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere, counterclockwise in the Southern Hemisphere, and not at all on the equator. This Coriolis Effect can be seen only 20m on either side of the equator. |
